4 Steps to Streamline Your Property Management

Hello WIIRE fam! I’ve been working on these 4 steps over the past few months to make my property management as efficient as possible. They might sound overwhelming but know that none of these happen overnight! They are all living documents and processes which means you can start simple and add and change them over time.

Here are 4 steps to streamline your property management that will work:

1. Quick Replies

Think about the things that you message your tenants over and over again. Now put those in an excel spreadsheet and name it "FAQ" or "Quick Replies" and start copying and pasting them instead of typing the same things over and over.

2. SOPS

Let’s start writing out everything you know you do from leasing all the way to recurring management and turnovers. These processed DO NOT have to be complete right away. Just make sure you add to them so they eventually will become complete.

3. Hospitable Auto Reminders

I create email rules to remind myself of tasks tied to a specific property. Because I keep my calendar updated in Hospitable, it knows when a tenant moves out or in. For example I have an email reminder 7 days after move out to remind me about processing their deposit return.

4. Asana Checklists

What do you need to do or check every day to manage your properties? What about Weekly? Monthly? Quarterly? Yearly? Keep track in a list in Asana or even excel. This will keep you organized and help you understand exactly what your job description is as your own PM.
